The President returned the Law (Reg. No. 3428) to be scrutinized for the second time. The President draws attention to certain regulations of the law that fail to correspond to the principle of supremacy of law and criminal-legal principle of correspondence of the punishment to the law committed.
The President of Ukraine also believes that regulations of the law fail to comply with the General Part of the Criminal Code, violate the logic of the system of punishments envisaged by the Special Part of the Criminal Code, as they envisage stricter punishment for the receipt of a bribe and certain other crimes related to the receipt of a bribe, than for a deliberate aggravated murder and other crimes related to the deliberate illegitimate deprivation of life of a person or many persons.
The People´s Deputies discussed the President´s motions and recommend that the Parliament rejects them and adopts the Law in its entirety.
